Feeling burned out? Refuel the tanks at 'Replenish'

PADUCAH, Ky. – A recent LifeWay poll says burnout is one of the top reasons pastors leave a church before retirement age.

But what factors contribute to burnout and how can ministry leaders protect themselves from abandoning a call about which they once felt so certain?

Heartland Worship Center, West Union Baptist Association and the Kentucky Baptist Convention will address these and other questions at Replenish 2017, a one-day church leaders conference at Heartland Worship Center in Paducah, Ky., on March 30.

Through thought-provoking speakers and uplifting worship, Replenish 2017 aims to provide encouragement and newfound strength for pastors, church planters, directors of missions and other ministry leaders.

Heading up the list of insightful speakers is Jason Brinker, pastor of First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, Fla., and Nathan Joyce, senior pastor of teaching at Heartland Worship Center.

The Replenish 2017 breakout sessions include:

  • "Staying Healthy While Pastoring a Church," led by Dr. Dan Summerlin, pastor, Lone Oak First Baptist Church, Paducah, Ky.
  • "How Do I Protect My Family from Burnout," led by Brian Croft, pastor, Auburndale Baptist Church, Louisville, Ky.
  • "Top 10 Ministry Burnout Tendencies," led by Dr. Dax Hughes, senior pastor of leadership, Heartland Worship Center, Paducah, Ky.
