The department provides contribution and financial reporting services.
The Accounting Services principal areas of responsibility include:
- the receipt and disbursement of all fund
- preparation of monthly financial statements
- assistance in budget preparation
- maintenance of the Convention's fixed asset system
- maintenance of internal control throughout the convention
- the development of effective accounting procedures and systems
Care is taken to ensure that improvements are made to the structure of the accounting system. These improvements reflect the changing standards and requirements of the various accounting organizations, which determine generally accepted accounting principles for not-for-profit organizations. They also improve reporting to the Board and its teams and departments.
