What is the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering?

Since 1845, the IMB has partnered with churches to send missionaries to live and work among those around the world with little to no access to the gospel.

Who was Lottie Moon?

Lottie Moon—the namesake of Southern Baptists’ international missions offering—has become a legend. But in her time, Lottie was anything but an untouchable hero. In fact, she was like today's missionaries. She labored tirelessly so her people group could know Jesus.

Why give to Lottie Moon?

The IMB sends missionaries across the globe to spread the good news of Jesus Christ with those who have never heard. All gifts to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering go directly to support the work of those missionaries.

There are many needs as a missionary in another country. Besides the basics of food, clothing, and shelter, missionaries often need vehicles, teaching resources, phones, schooling their children, and personal training to continue their Great Commission work. Consider giving to these vital efforts to help the gospel reach the furthest ends of the earth.

How do I give to Lottie Moon?

Help us reach our 165 million dollar goal in 2019 goal! Giving is easy!

Visit www.imb.org/give-now and select "Lottie Moon Christmas Offering." You can give a one-time or monthly gift.

You can also give in your Kentucky Baptist church by designating "Lottie Moon Offering" on your gift and placing it in your church's offering plate.

How can I pray?

  1. PRAY for people to give generously to this offering so that the gospel can continue to go forth into all the world.
  2. PRAY for missionaries as they face the practical struggles of their ministry assignments. From navigating massive amounts of city traffic to maintaining vehicles for use in remote areas, missionaries can have enormous challenges just getting to the people they are trying to reach.
  3. PRAY for personnel to work well with a diverse team of partners on the field—national partners, other US-based agencies, and missionaries from other countries.
  4. PRAY for missionaries as they struggle with being so far away from their home church, country, and family members. Pray they would have peace in knowing that they are not forgotten by us.
  5. PRAY that church leaders and members in the US will be inspired to share the gospel more fervently because of the bold witness of our IMB missionaries.
